how it started

MARIE MARIE was founded in 2022 by Marthe de Groot when she was 29. Based on a bag made by her grandmother's crochet club.

Instead of senior hobbyists she saw group of passionate women that valued getting together and creating something of worth. This was the backbone for something bigger. Enter MARIE MARIE, a colourful bag brand driven by the idea that fashion can be a force for good and can even inspire social change.
